ABSTRUSE (1) settled well back last time out before powering home into third on a wet Nowra track. Likely to drift back again from her draw but with a solid tempo anticipated, she can reel them in. MARINE GIRL (3) is in great form, lifting strongly to score last start over this trip at Queanbeyan to make it two in succession. Has good early toe so will give herself every chance again in front, just needs to carry the added weight. HOWIE DO IT (4) settled back before coming home strongly to score as favourite on debut at Leeton five months ago before heading straight to the paddock. Has been readied with a Canberra trial placing and is drawn favourably. Expect him to make his presence felt. DRAMA DODGER (7) doesn't win out of turn but was good fresh when beaten narrowly here in stronger company. Carries more weight this time but deserves following up. ELASTANE MISS (2) returns and has run well fresh without winning. Holds claims for the local barn.
