MY MATE ELVIS (3) improved sharply second-up at Albury in testing conditions, knuckling down strongly into the lane to finish a long neck away. Backs up quickly and gets the key booking of Boudvillain. The one to beat. BOMERTON (4) was poised to strike but found little in the lane after a messy run in transit and being posted wide throughout. Worth forgiving and is drawn much kinder this time. Watch for sharp improvement. STERN REMINDER (1) returns and makes his stable debut for the Dale camp. Showed good signs on debut when third at Coonamble and if he's taken any improvement he's right up to this, though he may need the run off a 349-day break. REEF ROAD (8) also resumes. Has proven hard to pin down but has peaks that measure up. Keeping safe. TARGET SET (9) was better last time and should be further improved by the blinkers. Best of the rest.
