STORM AVALANCHE (8) wasn't far off maiden success before a break of five months, finishing the campaign with a minor placing over 1160m at Turffontein Standside. Ready for a bold run. EMPRESS OF PEACE (5) is close to a win after a string of minor placings, the latest when third over 1450m at this track when she was always up in the leading division. Well placed and there is no reason she cannot find winning ways. SCENTED ALLEY (7) produced a nice effort on debut in better company last start over 1200m at this track when third, beaten 6 lengths. Likely improver so she is among the leading chances. PENNYS CHOICE (1) was in the money two starts back at Turffontein Standside then missed the frame but was not too far away last time over 1000m at Vaal. Settles off the speed. Can sneak into the finish.
