Thistledown Race 5 - Race 5 - Claiming

SPICE BAG (2) is close to breaking through after two consecutive placings, the latest coming when second over 1106m at Mountaineer Park (Dirt) after being prominent from the outset. Drawn for a nice run just off the speed. It doesn't get any easier but on his best form he is one of the chief contenders. GAME PERFORMER (1) finished eighth two runs back at this track (Dirt) then improved last time out to score by half a length over 1106m at this track (Dirt). Well placed and there is no reason he cannot repeat the dose. AXCEL (3) registered a strong win at this track two runs ago. Fair effort last time out when second over 1207m at this track, beaten 2.75 lengths. Has his share of talent. Hard to beat in this suitable race. EILEEN'S DESPERADO (4) ran below expectations last start, finishing tenth and beaten 8 lengths at this track (Dirt) over 1207m. Nicely placed to make amends.
