BACKHANDER (2) earns top billing after making all at Dubbo, where she was near the top of betting and won over 2200m. Not expecting this to be a great deal tougher and Thompson's booking is a big push for his chances. AMELIORATION (1) is the obvious threat, arriving off consecutive favourite-backed wins on the turf here. Worth noting Thompson does come off though and she does go up in the weights. CLUBMAN (3) has a legitimate case to turn around the latest result after racing wide early behind AMELIORATION, while his long-neck second to Draw Attention prior reads well enough for this. MAKAMAE (5) comes through stronger races, hitting the line nicely on heavy ground last week. Gets back out to a favoured trip on the short turnaround and is among the winning chances.
