Sunshine Coast Race 5 - Veterans Wellbeing Foundation (Vwf) Plate (C5)

GAMBLER (8) goes on top again after a brave win here last start, edging out the in-form Jimmy's Brother. His 1000m record is strong, he is proven here, and the Bruce have him humming. SHAKO (3) looms the main danger and boasts a terrific record here over the track and trip. Made an encouraging return back in July but hasn't quite gone on with it yet. Thompson taking over suggests he's worked well at home. CHALICE WELL (5) comes through two strong form races and sets up a treat third-up with the 3kg claimer on. Win won't shock. CONCESSION (2) found form at the back of last prep and has trialled well at Doomben in readiness. Is a noted fresh performer that can play a role in the finish. 7YO TEN TRINITY SQUARE (10) is an intriguing runner, only lining up in her fifth race after a long layoff. Can't knock his form and his recent trial was good but suspect he will need a hitout or two.

Two back he gave away a big start in NMW grade at Eagle Farm, but he now returns to a preferred set-up with three wins and four placings from nine starts at this track and distance. Proven at this track and trip, race fit and drawn to run very well.
