THEBUDGIESMUGLA (5) annexed his first black type success last start when he ground out a tough win in the 2400m Queen Elizabeth Cup at Randwick. That made it four wins from as many tries over this journey. Still gets in well and looks the one to beat again. KALUAKOI (4) led from the get-go and refused to yield in a dogged performance in the 2150m Ipswich Cup a fortnight ago. Placed at his only try over this longer trip. Will make his own luck up front and prove tough to catch. SO YOU ARE (7) tried hard but found THEBUDGIESMUGLA a bit too strong at Randwick recently. Genuine stayer who gets a little weight swing this time and can easily turn the tables. ENCODER (2) beat all but KALUAKOI in the Ipswich Cup last start. Getting a strong 2400m is the query but he should run well. POUNDING (3) is a stayer in fine form, his most recent offering a close second to the smart Asterix over this distance at Eagle Farm last weekend. Been up for while but keeps giving his all.
