Southwell Race 4 - Aw Trials Day - Lingfield 2nd Jan 2027 Fillies' Novice Stakes (Gbb Race)
ALWAYS SUNNY (1) made a promising start to her career when managing a 0.75L second at Newcastle beginning of the month. Will have learned plenty from that experience and should prove too hard to beat. LIGHT SNOWFALL (5) finished well held debuting here contesting a 1400m event. Now stepping up in trip she might be seen to better effect. MANEUVER (6) proved a handful at the start on her return to the track at Newcastle four weeks ago before unseating Rab Havlin. Connections will hope for better and she is worth giving another chance. STAR MIRAGE (8) holds more than enough ability but is becoming frustrating.

At debut, came home strongly from last on the turn; 4th of 7 at this track on October 10 over 1400m, 13 len behind Graniteville carrying 58kg at $6.50. Not far away last time but happy enough to avoid.

Second-up. First-up after 13 months didn't finish the race at Newcastle All Weather October 2 over 1600m. Previously second-up 3rd of 11 at Ascot on September 5 2025 over 1600m, slow going 5 len behind El Vamos carrying 58kg at $2.30. Finds a suitable assignment here and is likely to get the preparation back on track.

Form hard to fault. Comes here off a 29-day let-up. Most recently 3rd in a small field at Newcastle All Weather on October 2 over 1600m, 1.75 len behind Noozhaa with 58kg at $10. Before that tried to lead throughout but was claimed late 2nd in a small field at Kempton Park All Weather on September 4 over 1600m, 0.8 len behind Gilding The Lily carrying 58kg at $4. Rates highly and is one of the major players.

Third race start today. At very big odds at debut, ran second last of 7 at Kempton Park All Weather on September 9 over 1400m, 17 len behind Enchanted Queen carrying 58kg at $301. Second-up ran last in a small field at Great Yarmouth on October 5 over 1600m, 13 len behind Endless Quest with 55kg at $201. Form okay but a win doesn't look likely.
