CANCELLED (2) returned last time resuming from a long absence when given a very positive ride over 1900m ultimately just failing to get home. Still early days for new connections. May take a step forward for that run. ROCKIN' THE BOAT (1) was keeping some decent company in turf handicaps last summer. Makes seasonal and all-weather debut and is among the leading chances. PENELOPE VALENTINE (4) managed to take a step up to 1700m in her stride two starts back finding success by 3.5L. Struggled in a Class 2 tackling a sharp 1400m subsequently. Shortlist. DREAM ILLUSION (6) has been in good condition lately. This is a fair step up in quality.
