Debuts from barrier 1 for Kazuhiro Chonan, whose first-starter record reads 2 wins and 4 placings from 6 runners. The Beach Patrol filly is out of Enchantee and gets in with 55kg under Tatsuya Takemura. A half-sibling was unplaced on debut over 1600m, but the stable profile is a positive enough guide to make her the horse to beat.

Makes his debut from barrier 2 with Tomohiro Yoshimura booked, and that is a significant asset given his standing as the leading rider at this track. The Hokuzan Rouge family has produced multiple winners, including Hokuzan Gold with 10 wins and Hokuzan Burly with 8. Trainer Tadaaki Hashimoto's debut record is modest, so he profiles as a genuine place chance rather than a clear top pick.

Starts his career for Ikkoo Tanaka, the leading trainer at this track, and the stable's debut numbers are strong at 4 wins and 6 placings from 10 runners. The trainer-sire combination with Four Wheel Drive is also notable, with 3 wins from 5 starters. Drawn barrier 3 with Kenta Sugiura, he has enough stable strength behind him to press the main hopes first time out.

Debuts from barrier 4 for Toshifumi Oyama with 55kg, and the Fine Needle breeding gives her some speed interest for 820m. The family has produced winners such as General Riche, Sharp Honest, Tochino Elegant and Cinnamon Maillard, but the stable's debut sample is 0 wins and 0 placings from 2. She has to outperform that profile to trouble the main chances.

Begins from barrier 5 for Tadaaki Hashimoto, who also has Hokuzan Oro engaged. The Shanghai Bobby colt is a half-brother to A Shin Rikyu, a winner from 3 starts who was second on debut over 1400m at this venue. That family note gives him some appeal, but from the outside draw he sits behind the main assessed chances.
