Expected to challenge. WHERNSIDE (4) improved markedly from a below par seventh to finish runner-up on most recent appearance attempting a novice race over 1400m both times at Newcastle AW. May go one better. LUCKY HERO (3) recorded five consecutive placed efforts before finishing eighth in a Goodwood handicap. Might bounce back. ELIAS ESCAPE (1) is the pick of the debutants. Bred by Dandy Man out of Glen Gennie. Worth considering.
