BETTER LATE (15) is improving with racing in Midway grade and looks up to this off a 35-day let-up. Took control early with J Mac aboard when he jumped in trip for a close-up fourth over 1300m at Rosehill. Big drop in weight and going better than his price suggests. SYLPH (5) third up now and can bounce back over this trip after having no luck in the early part of the straight when seventh in the G3 Nivison over 1200m at Rosehill. Visors go on and will be ridden for luck from the wide barrier. MONTE VEEBEE (13) gets in light with Grima's claim and can stalk the fast tempo from the low draw. Good fresh gelding with genuine each-way claims. WHATALEGACY (8) brings a solid winning SP and good CV. Failed to let down in a high-pressure contest when seventh over this trip at Warwick Farm on a rain-affected track. Fitter now from the right gate.
