Randwick Race 4 - Alm On-Premise Brian Crowley Stakes (L)
CRESCENT KING (1) takes a big leap today after two excellent performances to launch this prep, the latest a comfortable win under 60kgs over 1100m in midweek company. The ratings are exponentially rising so this is not an unreasonable target. A similar profile for the unbeaten PUNXSUTAWNEY PHIL (2) who started favourite and did the job in style last time out over 1250m at the Kensington track. Maps nicely from gate four and with further progress likely he is going to make his presence felt. OUR EMPEROR (3) has been handy on the bend but struggled to finish off in two stakes races since resuming. Scratched from softer targets midweek to be kept for this. Expecting a far better run. CIARON'S STAR (5) ran on nicely but was no match for the flying Blue Door first-up in the 1100m Heritage. Classy filly who will be tough to stop over the extra 100m today. JACARANDA (6) is rarely far away. This class will test her but a top four finish is not out of the question.
