PRIVATE EYE (1) Group winning sprinter who will relish the fast tempo with his good first-up record. Nailed late by Warnie when second at Pakenham in the Supernova over 1400m last December. Primed for this with the two sharp trials and expected to go close. KERGUELEN (8) underrated sprinter who deserves his chance here. Trapped wide early and didn't get conditions to suit when seventh over 1100m in the G3 Maurice McCarten Stakes at Rosehill. Can reel off fast closing splits and gets a much better set-up here. JOKERS GRIN (3) comes over from WA and now in the Waller yard. Came to the end of his prep when fifth in the G1 Winterbottom over 1200m at Ascot last November. Returns with the two good trials and gets conditions to suit despite drawing out. MAZU (4) consistent sprinter who will appreciate the class drop. Sat on the fast tempo from the wide gate before fading to finish sixth over 1200m in the G1 TJ Smith Stakes at this track. Top-four player. ENRICHED (2) goes into the exotics.
