Presque Isle Downs Race 1 - Race 1 - Mdn Special Weight

BACK THE CRICK (4) has started twice, missing the frame on debut then doing a better job to finish second last time, beaten 0.8 lengths over 1207m at this track (Synthetic). Has a strong finish. Heading the right way and is expected to prove tough to beat. SMART PHILLY (3) was well held in the won by Angie's Reward over 1207m at Parx at her last appearance nine months ago. Has good early toe so she should be handy in the run. Leading contender. VOODOO (1) is a four-start maiden who looks close to breaking the duck after finishing in the placings at her last couple of runs, most recently when 5 lengths away in third over 1207m at this track. Hector Rafael Jr Diaz has registered two minor placings when on board. One of the contenders. HONORANDAPRAYER (2) has been in the placings two times from six outings. Last start finished fourth over 1207m at this track (Synthetic). Has recorded two top-three finishes from five runs at this venue. Worth considering.

Comes off a 30 day let-up. At the latest run ran second last in a small field at this track on August 31 over 1207m, 11 len behind Ready Munny carrying 54.5kg at $9.30. The race before that 4th in a small field at this track on August 4 over 1207m, 4 len behind Popcorn N Peaches carrying 54.5kg at $2.70. Better than that recent plain performance suggests.
