Like most in this race, ROYAL TROOPER (2) is hard to catch. Three back, he was beaten 1L over 2200m at Belmont in an Open 3, but has been plainer at Ascot and Belmont since. Maps well enough and has a 1.5kg claim. Suited in this and gets his chance. AHH CHOUX (3) comes out of the same Belmont contest and, like the above, couldn't muster any sort of challenge. She was a comfortable Maiden winner over 2200m at Scarpside prior, and has a handy 2kg claim. Gets another chance. POINTLESS PRAISE (1) led beaten a whisker at Ascot over 2200m at the back of his last campaign, but has been ordinary in his three starts this preparation. Has the rail today and may sit closer in a lesser grade. The blinkers go on again, and he can't be ruled out. DECLARED INNOCENT (4) has been racing poorly in town but would be around the mark if he found his A-game.
