Tough finish as well but siding with CAPTAIN CAT (3) who resumed here over 1400m on wet ground and won well, leading throughout there from the widest gate. He clearly likes the sting out and probably gets a soft track here. Out to a mile will only suit better and he can bounce straight to the front from barrier one. RASP (2) couldn't figure at Sandown Lakeside second up but had won well enough here fresh and should prove hard to hold out. LIM'S SMYTHE (1) perhaps didn't run out 2000m here last time and has been let up since. His form prior over this range reads well, look for a better effort. QUELLO DORATO (5) should be ready to fire third up having made good improvement at Geelong. BIRDIE TIME (6) didn't fire in her local debut but could be a quick improver off that.
