CONCORD CONNIE (3) settled well back over 1200m at Ballarat on debut, but powered home beaten a nose. She was backed off the map and resumes today, owning a 1000m jumpout win at this track. Will be naturally improved, and on what we've seen, she can open her winning account. GATTINO VELOCE (5) went close here twice before a 2L defeat over 1000m at Bendigo, where she made solid inroads after a slow start. Draws inside today and gives every indication that the longer sprint will suit. In a positive jockey switch, Childs is reunited. IRREVERENT (6) has been nudged out in all four runs this preparation. Likes the circuit and deserves another chance. TYCOON THIEF (9) debuts for the Hayes yard and has looked good at the jumpouts, and Ben Allen sticks from the latest. Jumps from a low barrier and a bold run is on the cards.
