Pakenham Race 2 - 9Mile Fresh Mdn Plate
ON THE LOOSE (7) had been well educated and was narrowly beaten this track/distance on debut. Crossed and led from the 11 gate and this looks an easier assignment. Draws awkwardly again but he will be fitter and can get the job done. LIGHT MOVES (5) jumped out well but had no luck here over 1200m on debut. He was expected to feature and the blinkers go straight on. Ben Melham sticks aboard and with average luck he can fight out the finish. BALLISTIC ROMEO (4) resumes and his debut effort was solid enough. Has had three sharp Mornington jumpouts and race rider Jamie Melham was in the saddle the latest. Everything points to a bold return. WOMBAT (16) will likely get a start and shouldn't be underestimated. He was a big Ballarat trial winner and then ran a competitive number resuming at Sandown-Hillside. Fitter and maps well and will jump a lot shorter today.
