Otaki Race 2 - AQUASHIELD ROOFING THREE YEAR OLD
SECURER (4) pinged away and bolted home in his first trial then wide the trip and was beaten a lip by MAGNATE in his latest trial, both in August. Kept on ice since. Take catching on debut. MAGNATE (2) won two trials over 1000m before getting well back and a chequered run in the straight at Ellerslie. Green in the run but found the line OK at Otaki last start. Should be better for the experience. STYLISH (8) missed the start and did well to get home for 4th in a good 3yo maiden at Taupo on debut. Danger with better manners here. BELLASS (6) led and clung on to score at Woodville last month sandwiched between solid 3rds, all on heavy tracks. Blocked for a run and didn't have any momentum when it came last start. Can bounce back here. STATE SECRET (7) produced a big run from the back to score on debut in August but just fair efforts since. Chance if she can find her best.

Fair debut last start over 1200m at Hawera when unplaced but beaten only 1.5 lengths into fourth. Among the leading hopes.

Improved on the debut performance last time out when fourth over 1400m at this track. Only needs to raise the bar a little to open his account.

Time Test gelding from the stakes-winning mare Makkura. Coming along well at the trials with a minor placing at his most recent. Makes debut on home track so could measure up without surprising.

Resuming from a lay-off. Ran fourth in a trial at Avondale. Raced just once to date and finished sixth at Ellerslie over 1200m. Prefer to see how he returns.

Still in first campaign. Has been out of the money recently including last start when fifth over 1215m at Arawa Park three weeks ago, beaten 4.5 lengths. Certainly worth another chance.
