She was checked late when fifth to Pure Melody last week, beaten just under two lengths, and her previous second to Star Turn Dancer as favourite reads well for this. BABYFACED ASSASSIN (5) comes through the same Canberra race and finished ahead of her, closing to run third after racing wide and being beaten just under a length. He is still a maiden, but he is fourth-up and brings genuine claims. POWERFUL PRAYER (1) resumes from a one month let-up after a BM64 placing at Illawarra Grange, where he was hampered before finishing strongly behind Kirkuk, and his previous 2200m win is a key asset. MERITAGE (3) is the next best after a BM65 third at Canberra and returns to a distance where she has already won, though she profiles more as a place chance than a dominant winning threat.
