A tricky puzzle. MEHMAS ENGINE (8) indicated ability in two outings this year on the all-weather. Didn't necessarily improve on second run when 3.5L from the winner at Kempton (1200m). Tentative selection. FRANTIC (6) is a Frankel filly who went very close on debut in October (soft). Failed to step forward attempting 1400m next occasion. Makes the shortlist here returning to shorter. EGOTISTICAL (4) was beaten only 0.5L over 1000m at Newcastle by an odds-on favourite when last seen in January. That form puts her right in this. HEN PARTY (7) had plenty of tries last campaign and other less exposed rivals are perhaps preferred.
