His previous Sapporo eighth was only beaten three and a half lengths, so the form line has more depth than the finishing position suggests, and two wins at around this distance give him a solid base. CON FORZA (12) resumes with the most consistent profile, having run second at this track before the break as a well-supported favourite and holding a strong overall place record. The wide draw is the obvious practical concern, but his course record keeps him right in the argument. BENE SPIRA (7) improved sharply third-up when third behind Honey Dress at Nakayama and is proven both at this venue and over 2000m, making him a genuine winning danger. His previous fourth at Chukyo was much better, beaten a length and a half by Kafuji Emmental at huge odds.
