Newcastle Race 3 - Safegroup Automation Mdn Plate
SAMAKA (7) jumped straight to the lead and looked the winner until claimed late on debut over 1300m at Canberra. Started at $1.70 that day so he is held in high esteem. Should give them something to catch again today. Kris Lees took HARRYBEGOOD (12) to town for his second race start 17 days ago and he did a reasonable job in finishing fifth over 1100m at the Kensington track, making good late ground. Well in after Stanley's claim and looms as a genuine threat. TUSCANY (9) returned from a six-month spell as a $1.26 pop but was no match for the winner at the end of 1150m at the Beaumont track. Has been disappointing but is open to improvement at the second run back. ADENAUER (1) has not been produced since a modest effort on debut at Canterbury in November. Easier task today so don't rule him out. WORLD WIDE (10) did a good job to fill a placing at massive odds on debut at the Kenso. Might need further but gets a soft run from gate one and will be finishing off.
