Newcastle Race 7 - Horsepower Newcastle Stakes (G3)

The rebadged Newcastle Newmarket has suffered from a host of key scratchings. A couple of smart mares now come to the fore. JUST FEELIN' LUCKY (4) is a handy type who won the 1350m Mona Lisa at Group 3 level last time in work. Tired late when resuming last start at Randwick but will kick on following that outing. Should dictate up on the pace and will be tough to catch. TUILERIES (9) finished third in a Tibbie over this course and distance last prep. Caught the eye first-up in the Triscay over 1200m at Randwick, making up plenty of late ground. One to watch for late in the piece. COAL CRUSHER (1) is the class runner but his two appearances this prep have been a little underwhelming, most recently in the Liverpool City Cup last Saturday. Can improve sharply in this weaker race. GETAFIX (11) was poor in a BM88 last start but can improve dropping from 61kgs to 54kgs. Add WEST OF AFRICA (6) to the key chances who are out of form. The addition of winkers might be the answer.
