Muswellbrook Race 6 - Think Solutions Cleaning & Support Hcp (C1)
MAINSTAY (3) made the right statement on debut at Scone, winning a Maiden over 900m by just under two lengths after starting a dominant odds-on favourite. He had trialled well beforehand, including a big Scone trial win, and although this is a quick return into CL1 grade, the manner of that first-up win says he has the scope to handle it. SALMA'S STAR (9) resumes with a proven 1000m profile, having won her only start at the distance, and her fifth in a BM64 at Newcastle reads well enough for this as she drops to country level. EXCELLUNA (5) also comes through a provincial Maiden win, overcoming a wide run at Newcastle to beat Monte Shell, with her Canterbury placing adding depth. STEEL KNIGHT (1) eases out of a Benchmark 72 at Newcastle and is suited back to a distance where he has won, and a big drop in class. Can bounce back to winning ways. BONOYSTER (8) has been edged out his past couple but is racing well and won't be far away.
