VANTAA (12) came home strongly to finish second, beaten a head by a smart one, over 1500m at Mornington on debut. Blinkers are added so with added fitness he looms as a big threat. DELA BELLA (7) is racing well and is close to a win, the latest effort a solid second at Bendigo over 1400m after she came with a powerful finish. Enjoys a drop in grade so she is likely to play a big role. DIESEL DESMOND (3) has had his chances and was in the money two starts back at Geelong but couldn't back it up last time when sixth, beaten 4.5 lengths, at Seymour over 1600m. Testing the patience after being a market mover a few times, but draws well again so reluctant to dismiss. SENTALOA (11) is a stablemate to VANTAA who has been beaten similar margins at the only two starts to date and should be ready to peak here. HOT SPIRIT (10) jumped from 1100m to 1400m second up and ran a much improved race, so might go ever better up to 1600m here.
