Small field and not the most inspiring race to start the card. But a couple of these that looks to have genuine upside, including VIRTUAL ILLUSION (1), who won well on debut. Got back and finished off powerfully there but there doesn't look a stack of speed on paper here so he can potentially settle handy with the claim. FINE ACE (5) ran fourth in that same maiden at Morphettville and there was a bit to like about her effort. She is open to improvement and can make her own luck on speed. The third of the key winning hopes looks to be GOLDEN HORIZON (2), who is first-up. He broke his maiden as a 2YO and the recent trial was excellent. Senior jockey on might count for something. MADAM MONEYBAGS (6) will need to improve, while SNALLYGASTER (3) is a debutant worth keeping an eye on.
