LILII BOREA (7) is the one to beat on profile despite two recent unplaced runs. Her Cloncurry eighth came after early wide work and a bump near the 250m, while the run prior was in BM55 grade, so this sets up more kindly. She has also won at this track and at this track and distance, and her season record gives her the strongest winning base. MAKEMINEMILO (3) has the better recent placing, having been beaten just under a length in a BM50 at Cloncurry two back before being checked last start, and the third-up timing keeps him in the mix. OUTCAST SOLDIER (4) comes through Class B form, with a Richmond Qld third last time, and his previous placings at this venue make him a sound minor chance even though this is a harder meeting than picnic grade. CLIODHNA MAEVE (6) had no luck when wide throughout at Winton in Class 2 and has enough 1200m form to improve, but she was beaten by LILII BOREA at McKinlay and has been unplaced in four starts this season.
