CALANDAGAN (1) resumes after ending last preparation with four straight wins, including an amazing win in the Japan Cup over 2400m at Tokyo at the end of November. He was immediately set for this race after that win, and he is the one to beat again. ETHICAL DIAMOND (2) added to his trainer's reputation as a master when winning the Breeders' Cup Turf at G1 level at Del Mar at the start of November. He also returns from a break, and he is the main threat to the top pick. GIAVELLOTTO (3) has been holding his form well, finishing a brave third in Group 1 company over 2400m at Al Rayyan last start. He went a huge race for second in the Hong Kong Vase before that, and has a great chance to break his track duck in this. ROYAL POWER (4) impressed first-up with a strong 2-length win over 2400m at Abu Dhabi 7 weeks ago, and he is normally better with more racing. He hails from the Charlie Appleby stable, and that immediately makes him a top 3 chance, especially on this course.
