PRIDE OF VENUS (6) was far from disgraced when third last start over 1300m at Rockhampton, beaten 0.9 lengths. That followed a win there the start prior. Has the class to take care of this field. LETMELETGO (3) produced a good effort last start when second over 1300m at Rockhampton to make it four minor placings from seven runs this preparation. Drawn to enjoy a nice trail just off the pace and rates among the leading chances. ACROPHOBIC (2) settled towards the tail then wound up strongly to finish 1.3 lengths away in second when resuming last start over 1200m at this track. Record at this circuit is strong and rates one of the main contenders. PEPPERDINE (7) is back at the races for the first time since January 1. Worth noting he filled a minor placing when returning from a spell last prep over 1300m at this course. Boasts a first-up record of two wins and three placings from eight starts and is sure to make his presence felt while fresh.
