WESTPORT CAPTAIN (3) has a moderate winning strike-rate but performed well last time at this track (Dirt), finishing third and only 2.5 lengths from the winner at the end of 905m after being in the firing line on the turn. Yet to miss the placings from five starts at this circuit. Suitably placed so anticipating a big run this time. SIR NANO (4) finished out of the money two starts back then he was never in contention and was beaten 7 lengths when fifth over 905m at this track four weeks ago. Best figures measure up nicely. Sure to run well. MANDELA EFFECT (5) showed early speed from an outside draw and held a forward position before fading to finish sixth, beaten 6 lengths, when returning after a spell last start over 1207m at Del Mar (Dirt). Will push forward and is among the chances. CAREFUL COLIN (1) turned in a fine effort to score by 2.5 lengths at today's track and distance last start which was an improvement on the first-up effort. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot repeat the dose.
