Launceston Race 4 - Cyril Simpson Mdn Plate
GEEGEES AVALANCHE (3) made good progress last season, and should have matured over his spell. He resumes with a recent trial under his belt, and having top hoop Anthony Darmanin in the irons fresh up is a strong lead. The blinkers go on for the first time, and despite a tricky gate, we have him on top. KION'S KINGDOM (4) set the pace fresh up, and faded in the run home. He had won a trial before that, so he should be spot on with his fitness now. He has a slightly better gate, drops 1.5kg, and should be fighting out the finish this time. MR TOD (5) resumes from a spell from the coveted pole position. David Pires keeps the ride after trialling him up recently, and he is capable of finishing in the top 4. TRICKY BOY (6) makes his debut from the powerful Siggy Carr stable and the market will be an important guide. MISS STRAT (10) has been thereabouts this season, but is not finishing off her races as expected. The blinkers added for the first time will be a big help, so stick with her.
