EAGLEFURTHER (2) is the clear top pick in the small field. Stalked the pace then fought hard to just prevail last start over 1650m at the Devonport Synthetic. Good miler who is equally at home on turf. Should be too good for this field. KIREINA MARUBRAH (6) hasn't been far away since a win over 1350m back on 28 June. Led but was swamped late and missed the placings last Friday over 1420m at this track. Placed at five of seven runs at the mile so another big run looks on the cards. AL MAXIMUS (3) was there on the bend but didn't quite get the 2150m here seven days ago. Can bounce back over this shorter journey. Veteran THISISMYTURF (5) closed powerfully to record a narrow win over 1420m here recently. Will handle the mile and the small field suits his racing pattern. NICALBI (4) finally broke his maiden status last time but this looks a bit rich.

Racing well recently. Most recently favourite; ran on from midfield and won by a nose in a Bm60 at Devonport Synthetic on September 9 over 1650m defeating Kireina Marubrah carrying 57kg at $3.60. The race before that rolled along in front then was edged out late 2nd in a small field in a Bm68 at Devonport Synthetic on September 2 over 1650m, long-neck behind Azonto with 54kg at $3.90. Draws a nice barrier and will be very hard to toss again.
