Makes his debut from barrier one and brings one of the stronger pedigree references in the race, being a half brother to G1 winner Forever Young. Ryusei Sakai takes the ride for Y Yahagi, whose debut runners sit at 5 wins and 10 placings from 42 starters. The trainer-sire figures are quieter, but the family has produced early performers and he profiles as a genuine place hope with upside.

Starts from barrier two for Hisashi Shimizu and has the Rulership connection, with that trainer-sire combination producing 19 wins and 52 placings from 178 runners. The immediate family has thrown Hermes Gang as a winner, but the listed debut efforts among the siblings are plain. He has some grounding from the stable pattern, though others bring stronger first-start credentials.

Debuts for the Hiroyuki Uemura stable with a strong statistical base, notably 15 placings from 34 first-starters and a Kizuna combination returning 9 wins and 24 placings from 50 runners. Keita Tosaki is a positive booking and barrier three gives him every chance to begin his career cleanly. With that stable-sire profile behind him, he looks the one they have to beat.

Comes from the Haruki Sugiyama yard, which has strong local standing, and is by Epiphaneia from Stars Aligned. Her half sister Teorema was a Listed winner, while Olufsen placed on debut over 2000m, so the family gives her a sound platform for this assignment. Barrier four is not as kind as some, but Kohei Matsuyama is a strong booking and she has clear claims.

Begins from the outside draw with 54kg and carries a staying-flavoured family line, with Weep Delight a multiple winner from 2200m to 2400m and fourth on debut over 2000m at Kyoto. Koichi Ishizaka's first-starter record is modest at 1 win and 3 placings from 25 runners, so she appears to be up against a few sharper debut profiles here.
