CHASING RAINBOWS (10) resumes as the runner to beat, having shown promise in two starts last campaign and then won at this track in a Mdn by just over three lengths as a short odds-on favourite. Three trials since last racing add the right fitness context, and her record at this distance reads well for a lightly raced mare. HOLDING CAPTIVE (4) has the best recent exposed run, finishing second at Cranbourne when beaten a neck, and his distance record keeps him right in the contest second-up. BOLD BORDEAUX (1) is better than a ninth at Geelong suggests after jumping awkwardly and striking interference, and he comes back from BM66 grade with a prior win at this track and distance. BLAZE AWAY (6) has a distance query after three unplaced attempts around this trip, but his first-up Seymour run had merit after a slow start and he is suited if able to build from that. EXTREME TURBO (7) showed enough on debut and in his latest trial to suggest this isn't too hard a task.
