SUPER MIRAGE (11) loomed up when resuming at Moe nearly 4 weeks ago and only peaked late when looking like he'd run in the top 3. He steps up from 1600m to 1887, and with a kilo less to carry, he is good enough to take this out. MIKE'S HOPE (10) should be suited to racing beyond a mile for the first time here, and he caught the eye with a big late finish for second over a mile 4 weeks ago at Swan Hill. Each way. CROWN OF RUSSIA (9) was a beaten favourite at Kilmore just over 3 weeks ago when not much went his way. He is worth another chance, so follow your money. LUNAR FORCE (4) improved quickly second up when finishing third at Geelong, and he will be at his peak now. Stick with him on an each-way basis. THE QUIET IMMORTAL (6) hardly runs a bad race, and he was a game third over 1400m last time out off a freshen up. He tries a middle distance for the first time, and even from a wide gate, he can figure in the top 3 again.
