SOUTHERN WARRIOR (1) looks firmly the one to beat having got off the mark at Newcastle attempting a 1200m contest nine days ago. Drawn nicely in stall three and could produce another bold show. ESCAPE PLAN (2) struggled on handicap debut when returning to the track four weeks ago adopting a first time tongue strap. May improve from that run and cannot be ruled out. ZOUSTAR DREAMS (3) wasn't disgraced against some good opponents tackling a variety of trips last season. Holds scope for better now handicapping. STANIEL CAY (5) might find things easier tackling handicaps. Will need to take a big step forward on what we've seen to date.
