Keeneland Race 12 - Breeders' Cup Classic Stakes (G1)

The main event. SOVEREIGNTY (2) was far too good in the Whitney, posting a new peak rating and silencing some doubters. He's had a slight issue since, but his work leading into this suggests he's back on song. Maps beautifully and with a strong tempo to run at, he'll claim the Classic he should've won last year. FOREVER YOUNG (5) was meant to race SOVEREIGNTY in the Jockey Club Gold Cup, where he did th ejob there with ease. He's never run a figure as high as SOVEREIGNTY, but he may be a more consistent galloper and he's tracking into this just as well as he was last year. Can create history as a back-to-back Classic champ. GOLDEN TEMPO (3) was sound in the Travers without winning but the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes winner has to be included. KNIGHTSBRIDGE (7) will give them something to chase.
