He's been within range in stronger Maidens and this is winnable. READY FOR THE TRIP (6) debuts for Gollan and is likely to be better than the recent trial finish suggests. Draws okay and has the blinkers applied. Keep very safe. CATALAN COMET (7) improved again narrowly beaten at the Sunshine Coast but faded late there over 1200m following. Peaks now and the shorter sprint suits the on-pacer. DISCOTHEQUE (8) resumes and the market suggests he'll be improved. He has pieces of encouraging form but will need some luck from the awkward barrier. SHAQUE D'AMOUR (14) debuts and has trialled sharply at Doomben. Maps well and Rodd is a key jockey booking. Worth consideration.
