VACILLATION (1) gets the nod after going under by just under a length in a CL5 at this track last week, with the held-up around the 400m adding merit to the run. He is proven around this distance range, and reunites with a rider who knows him well. SIR BEVERIDGE (5) is the main threat, eased from Doomben mid-week company and now third-up after a sound Ipswich placing two starts back. HOLY FLASH (3) has been holding his form in solid benchmark company and wasn't far away last week. Just needs to find a bit more. CARACORON (2) had excuses when slow away and held up at Lismore, and his close third two runs ago keeps him in the mix despite meeting tougher company now. OUT OF LUCK (4) got the verdict here last week when closing off strongly to score by a head. Has to carry more weight now, which could bring him undone.
