FIRESTORM BOY (1) was comfortably accounted for when fifth last time out over 1100m at Mudgee. That followed a win at Grenfell at the previous outing. Jake Pracey-Holmes gets the best out of this seven-year-old gelding. Can raise the bar and a big run is on the cards. TAMIEKA WARRIOR (5) showed good early speed last start over today's journey at Armidale before finishing third, beaten 0.9 lengths. Won't find this as tough and is one of the main contenders. COMMANDO JACK (6) finished out of the money two starts back then finished eighth over 1400m at Mudgee six weeks ago after being in contention on the bend. Clayton Gallagher has a good association with the gelding. Faces an easier assignment and sure to be prominent. GOLDEN WARRIOR (2) improved sharply last time out to score by 2 lengths over 1400m at Grenfell two weeks ago. Suitably placed to take a hand in the finish.
