JET SMART (2) finished second on all three chase outings since a spell attempting point racing in the spring. Returned from three months off when 1.75L down at Worcester (4600m) latest. Fancied to go one better. TAPLEY (1) is highly consistent. Reappearing here for a new stable having won fresh in the past. No surprise if he were to play a role in the finish. AMERICAN LAND (4) received wind surgery since last seen pulling up at Newton Abbot in June. This five-time hurdle winner is clearly not best judged on that form. Solid claims. LERMOOS LEGEND (3) provides a rare hurdle outing. Second beaten 5L at Bangor a fortnight ago and cannot be dismissed.
