Flemington Race 1 - Next Generation Sprinters 2yo
ROYAL SIGNAL (10) only won by a long neck on debut over 1200m at Cranbourne last start but she led comfortably until near the line and the issue was never in doubt. Meets a deeper field this time and has to handle the straight but she looks pretty smart. DOULL (6) for the Freedmans looks the pick of the first starters. By Snitzel from a Shamardal mare who has produced the Group 3 winner Aryaaf. Plenty of support early in betting suggests he is ready to run well. IMPEL (11) gave Royal Signal 2.5 lengths head start on the turn and halved that margin on the line when she resumed at Cranbourne recently. Wasn't too far away in black-type races in the Spring. Likely improver. GOLD BUCKET (3) was an easy maiden winner at Cranbourne last time. Speedy colt who is progressing well so don't leave him out.
