Improvement to come after the first-up run and should prove tough to beat again. MCBRIDGE (3) resumed from a spell last start with a sound third over 1006m at Louisiana Downs (Dirt) after being in contention on the bend. Finds a tougher race but a win is not out of the question. FIRST SAMARITAN (7) missed the placings two runs back then improved last start but found one better over 1006m at this track, beaten 3 lengths after being in contention on the corner. Has the talent to produce another positive result. POLAR WOLF (5) is a seven-start maiden who was in the placings at his last two starts, finishing third at the latest appearance over 1408m at Evangeline Downs (Dirt). Sure to be right in this.
