INTERLOCK EMPIRE (6) was in the firing line all the way and finished a very close second last start over 1673m at Fairgrounds (Dirt) to make it five minor placings in a row. Has good early speed. Looks well placed this line-up so expect another big run. SPECIAL DISPATCH (1) finished a 29 length ninth on dirt at Delta Downs two back. Switched to turf last time at Evangeline Downs Turf over 1609m and again missed the frame, finishing a 2.75 lengths fifth. Strong contender back on the dirt. PACIFICISLANDTIME (4) got well back over 1408m at Sam Houston Park (Dirt) last time and never threatened, eventually finishing 7 lengths away in fifth. Taking on a better line-up this time but he deserves another chance. FLAMINGPROPOSITION (2) finished 11 lengths from the winner in eighth on turf at Fairgrounds Turf two starts back. Missed the frame in another run on turf last time at Fairgrounds Turf over 1710m when 29 lengths adrift in eighth. One of the genuine hopes in the race.
