WASHINGTON LILAC (12) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1600m at Pakenham, but those races had a lot more depth than this. The 2124m, especially from a wide gate, could be some doubt given she's by Snitzel but blinkers go on here and she might give them something to catch. INTERVENED (7), who comes through the same race as WASHINGTON LILAC, won't have any issues with the trip, being by Kermadec. Gets sharply to this distance but looks to have a little more staying upside than most here. TE TANIWHA (8) is another lightly-raced type who looks suited at 2124m, but also has a wide gate to contend with. GUTHRIE (6) wasn't a factor on debut but will find this much more to his liking, not only in quality opposition but also distance. SO VOGUE (13) wasn't beaten far at Kyneton in a race that contained a couple who would start odds-on here, so improvement expected from the good draw.
