Craig Weeding holds the key here with four acceptors, three of them who are yet to be seen at the races. The one who has, WESTERN LANE (2), is on debut for the stable but heads south after a couple of runs this prep, including an on-pace two-length second at Wyong, which he only needs to repeat to be a chance here. SILVER CAPITAL (1) was well-supported first-up and ran well but might have just found the 1000m a bit sharp. With that under the belt and up to 1209m here he should go close. ANGEL'S GATHERING (3) was far from disgraced in two runs in the debut prep and has been given three jumpouts ahead of the return, so he should be pretty forward. The wide gate could be the issue. STERNIN (10) should be at peak fitness after four runs back and although second-last last time, that was in town and she was only beaten 1.5 lengths. GALAXY'S EDGE (9) is one of those Weeding debutants who was good on-speed in his Bendigo jumpout win and draws well.
