APOSTLE (1) is favoured off a sharply improved second at Toowoomba, where he warmed nicely late to only miss by a long neck. Gets his first look at the 1500m but his splits suggest he will relish it. WIN STAR (5) dug deep to fend off a challenger and justify the short quote, with a big gap back to the rest. Draws the A1 and gets a good chance to go on with it. MURKADO (2) has been close up in both runs this campaign and had a check last start at the Gold Coast. Drawn kinder this time, so if he takes closer order he may prove hard to hold out late. PIROUETTE GIRL (7) got off the mark stylishly at the Sunny Coast last time and carries a feather on her back here with Youngberry's 3kg claim. Needs to go up a rung or two but deserves respect. Similarly, EMBER ROYALE (6) is also a last-start maiden winner at the Sunny Coast. Suspect she can play a role late if the pace is genuine.

Went within a long neck of Ashkirk at Toowoomba last week, settling rearward before moving into the race and just being pipped late. That was a sharp lift on his ninth at Doomben, and he is now fitter third-up with blinkers applied for the first time and a 1.5kg claim. Built nicely and the rise in trip looks perfect for him now.
