KICKUP ROCKY (1) is a progressive gelding and is the one to beat after resuming with a determined Eagle Farm win, where he held off the in-form and fast-finishing Ashkirk. Has form over further and has proven versatile with his speed. Will take some beating. DUKE OF ALBEMARLE (3) looks the main danger after an eye-catching finish at the Gold Coast where he had to duck back inside on the inferior going for a run. Stripping fitter third-up, if he can settle a pair or two closer he can give this a big shake. GROENING (7) has built winning momentum through Rockhampton and Sunshine Coast, the most recent being quite dominant. Has to go up another rung or two here but Thompson piloting and the light weight keep him right in the discussion. AMOURETTE (6) is an interesting runner and had excuses in her Australian debut at the midweeks. She was good once getting clear and knuckling down, so not dismissing. SPARKLING BETTY (8) made relatively light work of them on debut and deserves respect.
